Lazio Targeting Chelsea Winger for Possible Loan Deal to Bolster Attack

Lazio are searching for wingers, preferably on cheap deals. They have laid their eyes on Callum Hudson-Odoi, whom Chelsea may let go on loan this summer. Maurizio Sarri is already familiar with the player, having coached him during his time with the Blues.

The 20-year-old winger saw his playing time decline in the past season. He collected 37 appearances, but he made just 10 starts in the Premier League. Lazio are trying to add him on a temporary spell, with no option or obligation to buy attached, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. They think he would be a quality reinforcement given his versatility, as he can feature on either flank.

Hudson-Odoi tallied 6 goals and 7 assists in 29 matches with Sarri at the helm. He suffered an Achilles tendon tear late in that season, and Chelsea signed a slew of attackers in recent windows. He is a strong candidate to be a late addition if other deals fall through, the newspaper says.

The problem for Lazio is that the attacker is a non-EU player. They can acquire only one more after Felipe Anderson and would have to renounce signing Filip Kamenovic. They are working on multiple names to strengthen their front-line. Filip Kostic sits atop the list, but they need to sell Joaquin Correa to bankroll the pricey transfer, Alfredo Pedullà informs. The Serbia forward is likely to leave Eintracht Frankfurt to take on another challenge. The German club is in advanced talks to replace him with Milan’s Jens-Petter Hauge.
