Lazio Tipped to Try to Purchase Former Inter Target

Lazio intend to further reinforce their midfield and are eyeing Lazar Samardzic, who remains for sale after the saga with Inter. However, they’ll need to offload some outcasts before onboarding a new option. The Biancocelesti bounced back from the departure of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic by adding Daichi Kamada and Nicolò Rovella.

Per Corriere dello Sport, the Biancocelesti were focusing on Mats Wieffer before this new opportunity emerged. The Dutchman has a €12M price tag. He was close to Newcastle United before they acquired Sandro Tonali. He’s easier to sign than Matteo Guendozi, who’s high on their wish list too.

Lazio had already tried to lure Samardzic in January by proposing a swap with Toma Basic. They could make another attempt in the same vein. They are looking for a collocation for the Croat, who hasn’t panned out. That’s the case also Marcos Antonio.

Selling one of the two would open up room for an addition. PAOK are tracking the Brazilian but propose just a loan. Verona and some Ligue 1 and German sides are keeping tabs on the youngster. He doesn’t want to join a minnow, though.

Our Take on Lazio and Samardzic

If they had enough ammo, they should definitely go for it. He’d be a proper alternative to Luis Alberto and protect them from the many whims of the ever-mercurial Spaniard.
