Lazio Undecided About Veteran Star’s Future

There’s a veil of mystery surrounding the future of aging Lazio forward Pedro, who’s seemingly keen to continue in Serie A beyond the summer. As per Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), the veteran plans to honor his word to the Biancocelesti in Rome and stay put next season.

However, Lazio president Claudio Lotito is more inclined to sell the former Barcelona and Chelsea forward. Pedro’s underwhelming performances in 2023/24 derailed his stature in Lotito’s eyes. He’s actively seeking a buyer, but his quest has come up dry.

Though the transfer window ticks on, Lazio still have enough time to find a suitor for Pedro. For now, he’ll join Marco Baroni’s pre-season camp. The ex-Roma winger will report for training on Monday as Baroni gets his managerial career in Rome underway.

Pedro will show up at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore. He’s ready to throw himself at Baroni’s disposal. But there’s a feeling he’ll not be at Lazio in 2024/25. Despite the current lack of interest, Lotito will continue to scour the landscape for solutions.

While working on resolving the Pedro wobble, Lazio remain active on the incoming front. After completing the acquisition of Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, they’ve turned their attention to Feyenoord midfielder Calvin Stengs. That’s not to mention they’re still hopeful of landing Mason Greenwood.

The troubled English forward has reportedly set his Manchester United exit timeline, with Lazio determined to bring him to Serie A this summer after a failed attempt 12 months ago.
