Lazio Unlikely to Make Headway for PSG Target Amrabat

Lazio have entered he race to sign Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina. The 26-year-old midfield powerhouse was one of the standout performers at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, earning praise for playing a vital role in the nation’s semi-final run. The Viola are eager to keep him, but heightened interest means it will be harder than they imagine to tie him down.

His agent Alberto Maria Fontana recently commented on the Moroccan’s intention to respect his existing contract, but the emergence of top dogs such as Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League duo Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will be hard to avoid. Juventus are also touted to be eager for his services, along with Napoli who have shown interest in the past.

Latest reports from Italy (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) indicate Lazio’s burgeoning interest in the highly-rated midfielder. However, the lure of regular Champions League football will be hard to take away from the other aforementioned clubs.

Any interested suitor will have to shed €30M or upwards in order to entice Fiorentina into selling him.
