Lazio Wantaway Draws Interest from Leicester and Other English Clubs

Lazio need to complete a high-profile sale in order to finance their reinforcement campaign. Since the Luis Alberto‘s controversy has subsided, Joaquin Correa is the most likely candidate to leave. PSG have eyed him for some time, but without reaching an agreement with the Biancocelesti. Leicester have recently joined the race, La Repubblica reports.

El Tucu will head back to Rome next week after winning Copa America. Coach Maurizio Sarri said in a recent presser that the player asked to depart. PSG approached Lazio by offering Pablo Sarabia and cash, but the two sides failed to come to terms.

Leicester are seeking a player with Correa’s characteristics. They are readying a €25M offer plus bonuses, which may not be enough to convince Lazio. Moreover, the player himself is not too keen on the destination. While he is not the cleanest fit for a 4-3-3 scheme, the manager stated that he would find a role for him if he reconsidered his position.

According to Radiosei, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Everton have inquired about the 26-year-old attacker as well, but their initial proposals were too low. Lazio need funds as they looking to add a couple of pure wingers. Xherdan Shaqiri openly mentioned them in an interview, but he is not their top option for the role, the outlet indicates. The Biancocelesti prefer Julian Brandt and are competing with Milan to get him on an initial loan from Borussia Dortmund. Moreover, they are considering reuniting Sarri with José Maria Callejon, who has not played much at Fiorentina, and are tracking Real Sociedad’s Adnan Januzaj.
