Lazio Wishful Real Madrid or Aston Villa Sign Reject

Vedat Muriqi hasn’t lived up to expectations at Lazio, but, even though he has departed, he could still help them. The striker has bounced back in La Liga, and he’s drawing interest from big teams. The Biancocelesti have a sell-on clause. The prospective income would be a big boost on the transfer market.

As per DAZN, Real Madrid are among the sides eyeing the center-forward. They didn’t replace Luka Jovic in the summer and could use a new Karim Benzema deputy. Sevilla and Aston Villa are also keeping tabs on the 28-year-old. The former are floundering this season and need new pieces, while the English side wouldn’t have trouble matching the request to onboard him.

Mallorca are looking to drum up a bidding war to bring the price tag to €20M. Lazio would get 45 percent of the sum, as agreed upon when they permanently parted ways with Muriqi in the summer. He had initially transferred to Spain on a six-month month loan last January and was then bought out for €7M.

The Kosovar has bagged 8 goals in 12 appearances so far this season. He has kept up his production from the second half of the previous campaign, where he had hit the net five times and provided three assists.

Lazio acquired Muriqi from Fenerbahce in 2020 for €20M. He didn’t find his footing in the Italian capital, closing his stay with just 2 goals in 49 appearances, mainly off the bench. The Biancocelesti have chronically had trouble with the liquidity index. Therefore, they can make additions only after raising money in the transfer market.
