Leeds Owner Radrizzani Backs De Ketelaere to Shine in Milan Colors

Milan signed Charles De Ketelaere following a transfer saga that involved more than just them in the race for the Belgian talent. The Club Brugge youth product left his boyhood club after Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara expressed their intention to onboard him, leaving several clubs, including Leeds United hanging.

De Ketelaere hasn’t shone as expected in the Rossoneri colors, so far being used in a cameo capacity by Stefano Pioli all season. Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani has revealed the youngster needs more time to show his true colors on-field rather than being judged too soon.

“Yes, we were there too but then in the end he chose Milan… We’ll need to give him a moment, we’ll see his qualities,” he said in an exclusive interview with DAZN (via MilanNews).

Several clubs were interested in luring the Belgian, but it was Maldini’s influence, along with the opportunity to don the famous Rossoneri jersey, that prompted De Ketelaere to take the big step.

The 21-year-old has been criticized for registering just one assist in 28 appearances so far.
