Leicester and Leeds Eyeing Milan Youngster Tommaso Pobega

The good performances of Tommaso Pobega at Spezia in his first season in Serie A have not gone unnoticed as he has drawn interest from Leicester, Leeds and Eintracht Frankfurt, however Milan are planning to keep him in the roster next season, Tuttosport reports.

The 21-year-old midfielder has tallied 3 goals and 2 assists in 14 appearances with the Aquilotti, following up his break-out season at Pordenone in Serie B with strong displays in the top division as well. He has also scored twice with the Italian U-21 team against Iceland back in November. Pobega moved to Spezia on a loan with option to buy and a counter-option in favor of Milan, which will allow his current team to cash in on the fact that they contributed to his growth.

His price tag is around €10-12M now, but the Rossoneri have no intention of selling him as they want to rely on their home-grown talents in the future. Pobega is at his best in a three-man midfield since he is a pure box-to-box, while Stefano Pioli uses two pivots, although the management and the coaching staff are confident he will be able to learn the new position when the time will come. He can also be deployed as tactical no.10.

Pobega originally joined Milan from Triestina in 2013, when he was 14, and was coached by Gennaro Gattuso in Primavera. He made his professional debut at Ternana in Serie C in 2018. He has notched 8 goals and 7 assists in 63 games in the lower divisions.
