Leicester City Midfielder Lands into Roma Crosshairs

Roma plot to further reinforce their midfield after bringing in Enzo Le Fée from Rennes and have set sights on Boubakary Soumaré. He’s been a routine target for Serie A sides in recent windows. He’s back at Leicester City after a loan spell at Sevilla.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Virgilio), he’s unlikely to stay. He wouldn’t play much behind Wilfred Ndidi and Harry Winks. He has a €15M price tag. He’s under contract until 2026. Another temporary departure is technically possible. The 25-year-old featured 34 times in Andalusia, but the Spanish team didn’t keep him.

Soumaré has had his best campaigns at Lille in the past, and new Roma director Florent Ghisolfi comes from Ligue 1. The Giallorossi already tried to acquire him because of Giorgino Wijnaldum’s injury issues a couple of years ago.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the capital club is open to selling Edoardo Bove and values him €12M. Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino asked for him. La Viola is closer to other midfielders, for instance, Venezia’s Tanner Tessmann.

Our Take on Roma and Soumaré

Considering that their pieces are mostly on the technical side, a powerhouse would round out their squad better than the Italian youngster, although they can just keep him and add outright. However, it looks like they’ll use most of their remaining resources for a winger and a right-back, and they are right in that. He’ll probably still be an option late in the window.
