Levy and Paratici to Work Shoulder to Shoulder at Totteham

Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of appointing Juventus supremo Fabio Paratici as their new director of football. Daniel Levy is plotting massive changes in the club hierarchy following an underwhelming season and will be working shoulder to shoulder with the Italian.

Levy was keen on announcing Paritici’s hiring simultaneously with Antonio Conte’s arrival, but the latter’s takeover collapsed at the 11th hour. The ex-Inter Milan boss was the leading candidate to fill the managerial vacancy in North London, but the parties failed to strike an agreement after exhausting negotiations.

Talks broke down on Friday due to several issues, with Conte insisting on bringing an entirely new coaching staff to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Despite the 51-year-old’s decision to withdraw from negotiations, Levy’s intention to give Paratici a prominent role at the club hasn’t changed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Tottenham bigwig is keen to join forces with Paratici this summer and include the experienced schemer in the decision to land a new coach. Levy reportedly considers Brighton’s Graham Potter and Fulham’s Scott Parker potential solutions, though the Italian’s arrival could spark rumors about Andrea Pirlo.

Paratici’s trophy-laden 11-year stint at Juventus saw him sign some of Europe’s finest talents on free transfers, including Pirlo, Paul Pogba, Sami Khedira, Emre Can, Dani Alves, Aaron Ramsey, and Adrien Rabiot.

With the 48-year-old’s hiring waiting for the official announcement, the arrival of Conte cannot be discarded as of yet. The duo enjoyed a marvelous time together at Juventus, laying the groundwork for the club’s nine-year reign in Serie A.

Paratici already held a farewell press conference on Friday.

“I don’t think this is the right time to talk about other clubs today, it’s my Juventus farewell today. My family hopes that I will find a job quickly,” he said as quoted by the Evening Standard.

“Working at Juventus is a real education in terms of mentality and style. Obviously, you hope to learn something at every club, but I will certainly bring that with me in the future.”
