Lille President Warns Growing List of Sven Botman Suitors

Sven Botman is poised to be in high demand next summer, and Lille will be looking to cash in fully. Milan pursued him at length during the January window. But Newcastle and other Premier League giants have him in their sights too. Juventus would have an interest in they parted ways with Matthijs De Ligt.

According to The Athletic, Les Dogues rejected €35M from the Magpies in the recent window. They will up their offer in the summer. Tottenham are also keen on the player. The French club aims to continue stoking the bidding war.

Lille president Olivier Letang spoke about Botman and their financial situation to Le Parisien: “We had no obligation to sell in January. We had two auditions with the regulatory body, and they went well. He had the chance to depart last summer, but I stopped him and told him we would rediscuss it at the end of the season. He is a great person and a top player, and he deserves to join a team that can win the Champions League. We will take into consideration only considerable offers that satisfy all the interested parties.”

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan continue to be the frontrunners for Botman. However, the deal is becoming increasingly difficult and the competition more and more fierce. The defender is leaving a trail of breadcrumbs, too. He liked the Instagram post where Olivier Giroud celebrated his Derby brace. On the other hand, the Rossoneri will have to open up their wallet to get their top target.
