Liverpool Legend Predicts Inter to Fall in Champions League

Liverpool legend Ian Rush believes his former team will outclass Inter in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash. The Nerazzurri will first host the Reds at the Giuseppe Meazza on February 16, before heading north to Anfield on March 3 for the 2nd leg encounter.

As per his comments relayed by Calciomercato.com, Rush revealed how close the clash between the European giants is going to be.

“Two great teams, two great histories, by the way, Liverpool are playing really well at the moment as a team,” he said.

Inter enter the knockout phase of the competition for the very first time in over a decade and Liverpool pose a great first challenge for the Nerazzurri as the competition progresses.

“Playing an Italian team is always difficult to score, but Liverpool have a front three that will score goals. It will be a difficult game, but I can see Liverpool coming out on top,” he said.

Inter managed to come second, five points behind Real Madrid in Group D.

On the other hand, the Reds emerged out of Group B unscathed – with a 100% win record, in a group with Porto, Atletico Madrid and Inter’s eternal rivals Milan.
