Roma and Milan are openly searching for a new center-back, but Hincapié is a long-shot option. The German side will most likely oppose his January departure. There’s a better chance he’ll transfer to richer clubs at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has a €70M release clause on his contract. He has 65 Bundesliga appearances under his belt, where he has scored twice and assisted on three occasions. He has already raked up 30 caps with Ecuador.

He’d be a great get for both sides, and his ability to play as a left-back too would be perfect especially for Il Diavolo. However, considering his price tag, he’s more of a summer deal and might already be too expensive for Serie A sides altogether.
It’s also uncertain whether Milan will indeed continue seeking a new option following Simon Kjaer’s return and Jan-Carlo Simic’s great debut. Perhaps they’ll be content with an early reunion with Matteo Gabbia.
