Liverpool Target Hints at Leaving Atalanta at Some Point

Ederson has alluded at departing Atalanta down the line, which would be a big problem for his club considering the ongoing Teun Koopmeiners saga. He spoke to AS (via Goal).

“I don’t know what my ideal league is. I’ve thought about it a lot, I like Italy and fit in well. However, I’m curious about the Premier League. I’m still growing, so I don’t know if I’ll stay in Italy. I still have a lot to prove. It’d be the same thigh if I departed, as I’d keep working hard to get better.”

Ederson replied to a question about the transfer market chatter about him.

“Speculations are normal when the window opens, and they don’t regard just me. When I got a call, I told my wife and agents that I’d focus on the national team first, as it’s my first call-up, and then I’d think about other things.”

“I’m comfortable at Atalanta. We just won a great trophy, and I adjusted very well. I’m not concerned about my future at this stage. I want to do well with Brazil and make a nice first impression. I hope everybody gets to know me as they do in Italy. I’m very concentrated and happy and aim to exploit this moment to the fullest.”

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini was quizzed about the future of Ederson in an interview with Rai late in the season (via Sportitalia).

“Keeping somebody like him in Bergamo would mean retaining a world-class talent. We hope we’ll manage, but it’s always hard with these coveted players.”

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Liverpool are after the midfielder and could tender €45M.
