Locatelli Agent Talks Juventus Transfer and Contract

Manuel Locatelli scored his first goal in two years, with the help of a massive deflection, to help Juventus get past Milan in the last Serie A round, replicating his heroics from back in the day with opposite jerseys. His agent Stefano Castelnovo spoke with TuttoSport (via Fantacalcio).

“Massimiliano Allegri always showed great trust toward him. After playing in a two-man midfield or as a box-to-box for many years, he has been able to interpret his new role in the best possible way. He provides balance and aids the defenders. He deserved a joy like this one.”

Locatelli moved to his boyhood team Juventus after complicated talks with Sassuolo.

“It was surely a long and tortuous negotiation. There were some tricky moments, but we managed to conclude it positively. Many foreign clubs were interested in him, but he always had clear ideas. He strongly wanted to wear the Bianconeri colors. It wasn’t easy to complete such a pricey operation right after the COVID-19 pandemic, but we did it.”

Castelnovo disclosed the future of Locatelli.

“The possibility of leaving has never been concrete. He has always desired to stay at Juventus and never considered other destinations. The intention to continue together is mutual. We’ll try to get to a renewal in due time.”

The 25-year-old midfielder is already under contract with the Old Lady until 2026. Therefore, the parties aren’t necessarily in a hurry to iron out his extension.
