Juventus Eye Two Ligue 1 Talents as Locatelli Alternative

Juventus’ pursuit of Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli has not yet materialized into anything fruitful and amid new interest for the player from Arsenal, the Bianconeri are reportedly eyeing alternatives.

According to latest reports from Calciomercato, Juventus are keeping tabs on two Ligue 1 talents who have recently come into the spotlight. Highly-rated 21-year-old AS Monaco defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is touted to be high on the Old Lady’s transfer wishlist if a move for Locatelli doesn’t go through. The France U21 international has a market value of €30m, according to transfermarkt.

He rose to fame from Bordeaux’s youth academy, before making a move to Monte Carlo during the 2019/20 season.

The second reported target is Lyon’s Bruno Guimarães, who is currently taking part in Brazil’s squad for the Tokyo Olympics. The 23-year-old has already been asked for by Arsenal, who are also scouting him as an alternative for Locatelli.

Juventus have been stuck in a financial crunch due to the pandemic.
