Lotito Confirms Sarri, Rejoices for Bounce-Back Display

The recent victory over the lowly Cagliari was enough for Maurizio Sarri to shoo away the possibility of a coaching change, as president Claudio Lotito told Il Messaggero.

“The serenity has returned. We cleared the air inside the locker room. From here on out, I hope to see the same attachment until the end of the season. Everybody must run as they did in Cagliari. We’re strong and might fight together for a spot in the Champions League.”

Lotito claimed that he didn’t need to intervene directly to protect Sarri.

“I’m the owner, and it doesn’t seem to me that this happens in other teams either. I’ve given carte blanche to our director Angelo Fabiani, who relayed my message. I said that I never thought about firing the coach. The players know that I behave if they do the same. There are no more alibies. We passed the first test. There must be unity until June.”

The patron discussed the failed deal for Ryan Kent.

“I don’t know the reason why he changed his mind, and I don’t even care. He was a flier for cheap and a surplus. We didn’t reinforcements because we believe in the strength of this group, which we relied on and expect a lot from.”

Lotito addressed the fact that some contributors could be in their final months at the club.

“The truth is that everybody is comfortable here, maybe even a little too much.”
