Hirving Lozano won’t move to Los Angeles FC, which didn’t come to terms with Napoli. The Mexican winger made his summer debut in Wednesday’s friendly against Girona. The deal didn’t progress after an opening offer. His agent Barry Whelan left their pre-season set up well before the deadline because the talks hadn’t advanced enough.
According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via SportMediaset), the MLS franchise put forth a €10M bid, which was too low. While his agents bargained a lucrative contract, the attacker wasn’t too eager to move across the pond, Fox Deportes informed.
The transfer market window closed in the United States, so Lozano will eventually transfer elsewhere after the deal to Los Angeles FC didn’t come together. The Azzurri could try again to extend his contract.
The 28-year-old has a year on it. Contrary to Piotr Zielinski, he’s not keen on reducing his salary as the brass wants. There are no other suitors in the picture at the moment.
