Lozano Ready for PSV Homecoming as Napoli Fill-in Gap

With the imminent arrival of Jesper Lindstrom from Eintracht Frankfurt, Napoli are ready to release Hirving Lozano, who has long awaited the club to sign a replacement after being ditched out of Rudi Garcia’s season plans. Two outfits, including Premier League heavyweights Newcastle United have accelerated efforts to sign Lozano.

As per latest information though, it is Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven which are inching closer to signing Lozano on a permanent transfer, marking their efforts by tabling a second bid of €12M after their first was turned down.

However, Aurelio De Laurentiis is stone-headed on selling the Mexican for at least €18-20M, with the hopes of bagging at least half the bucks they spent when signing him from PSV back in 2019. Napoli also want a percentage on the player’s future resale.

Lozano moved from the Dutch giants for €45M after spending two full seasons with them. The 28-year-old has strong ties with PSV, where he registered 40 goals in 79 appearances across three campaigns. He is reportedly excited about returning to The Netherlands, where he established himself as a fan favorite.

Our Take on Lozano to PSV

Chucky is reportedly out of Garcia’s plans for the season, which means a move away from Napoli seems like his best bet, especially with his contract expiration approaching at the end of this season. It is a win-win situation for both Napoli and Lozano to part ways, and what better way to do it than to go back to where he is a fan favorite.
