Lozano Will Not Stay at Napoli Without a New Contract

Hirving Lozano is facing a pivotal summer, as he’ll either extend his contract with Napoli or have to find a new team. The Azzurri won’t keep him if there’s the risk of losing him for nothing in 2024.

Mexican journalist Daniel Martinez weighed in to Punto Nuovo Sport Show (via Tuttomercatoweb).

“I’ve had the chance to talk with Aurelio De Laurentiis, who’s always a volcano of ideas and words. He said that there was no chance he’d stay without prolonging his deal. Therefore, he must have a sit-down with the front office and renew it, or leave. The club’s stance is absolutely logical, and the player knows where things stand very well.”

“Lozano has matured a lot during his time in Naples. He tracks back more now. He was brought in by Carlo Ancelotti, but then he retained a prominent role also with a coach, Gennaro Gattuso, that didn’t rate him at first.”

De Laurentiis had rather incendiary words about the winger while talking to ESPN (via Mediaset).

“I don’t think Lozano is stupid. When he will meet Rudi Garcia, he’ll understand whether it’s better for him to agree to a new contract or transfer to another team.”
