Luis Alberto More Distant from Desired Move to Sevilla

The reunion between Luis Alberto and Sevilla might not happen this summer either, despite the player’s wishes and some talks with Lazio. The offers coming from Andalusia have left president Claudio Lotito wanting thus far.

The Spanish side recently came to terms with free agent Isco. While that doesn’t necessarily mean they will stop pursuing the Biancocelesti star, he’s no longer their top priority. According to Radiosei, their largest bid amounted to €18M, while the capital side requested €25M.

Lazio are facing a conundrum since Luis Alberto is less likely to depart. They have an agreement in principle with Verona for Ivan Ilic. However, they wanted to sell one of their aces before executing the deal. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic doesn’t appear close to leaving either, even though Manchester United are always looming for him.

As per a gentleman’s agreement with Hellas, the Biancocelesti have until mid-August to sign the Serbian starlet. Afterward, they will start talking with other teams. Milan could emerge as a serious threat as they are looking for a midfielder. Still, the capital side is pondering finalizing the addition anyway and searching for a solution later on. They did the same with Alessio Romagnoli in the back, as Francesco Acerbi hasn’t left yet.

Our Take on Lazio and Luis Alberto

The never-ending saga reaches another chapter, but the dysfunctional marriage somehow works on the pitch despite the troubles behind the scenes. At some point, he might even become a bargain for sides looking for quality in the midfield, even though he’s a bit peculiar. Instead, Ilic is almost a can’t-miss prospect and would be a terrific signing for any side.
