Luis Alberto Nearing Decisive Day Regarding Future at Lazio

Central midfielder Luis Alberto is nearing closer to the decisive day regarding his future at Lazio beyond this year’s current campaign.

Throughout the first half of this year’s Serie A season, the Spaniard was limited to minutes on the pitch under Sarri, causing the 30 year-old to feel alienated and desiring a move away from the Biancocelesti within the January transfer window, six-months prior to the expiration date of his contract.

However, it seems that Luis Alberto has undergone a change of heart after the second half as he is willing to hold extension talks with the Capital Club.

According to reports from Il Messagero, via Tuttomercatoweb, Luis Alberto and his entourage are set to have a meeting with Lotito and the club within the next three weeks in order to reach an agreement. The central midfielder is hoping to obtain a salary of 3.5m per season, congruent to Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Despite the Italian tactician seeming lacking trust in Luis Alberto, Sarri is keen that the Spanish maestro remains with the Biancocelesti beyond next season as he stated that the 30 year-old has evolved into an all-rounded midfielder, as he amassed five goals and six assists in 33 games-played.
