Luis Maximiano Could Leave Lazio in January On Loan

Despite joining Lazio in the summer, it is possible that goalkeeper Luis Maximiano could end up leaving the Biancocelesti in the winter. The 23-year-old was initially brought in to become the new number one at the club. However, in just one game, he managed to lose the starting role to Ivan Provedel.

While no clubs have been mentioned, Calciomercato writes that the Portuguese shot stopper may go on loan in January. It has only been two months since Maximiano came to the club from Granada. He started Lazio’s first match of the season against Bologna. However, he received a red card just five minutes into his debut.

Although Lazio did win the match 2-1, coach Maurizio Sarri has not given Maximiano another shot in the net since. In the 10 games since, the capital club won five of them, losing twice. That included a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Midtjylland in the Europa League last month.
