Milan have constantly been linked to Olympique Lyonnais prodigy Maxence Caqueret, with reports suggesting a Pierre Kalulu-styled transfer for the highly-rated 22-year-old midfielder. However, contrasting reports from France now indicate that the Frenchman is headed towards a contract renewal deal at Lyon.
RMC Sport (via PianetaMilan) report of a blockbuster contract extension at offer for the France U21 international, quite possibly keeping him at the club until 2026 or 2027.

His current deal at Lyon expires in the summer of 2023, and Milan have the chance to bag his signature for a discounted price rather than his €20m transfermarkt value. But the chance to almost quadruple his salary seems to have nicked his interest.
There is also the opportunity to wear the captain’s armband soon enough for his boyhood – an exciting prospect that the Lyon youth product will find hard to ignore.
Paolo Maldini is reportedly a huge fan of the youngster and it might be quite a while before the Rossoneri fend interest off him going forward.
