The first request by his agents was €8/10M annually. They want him to be compensated like the other top goalkeepers in the world. Thibaut Courtois is making €7/8M after a renewal, Gianluigi Donnarumma even slightly more. André Onana earns €5.5M annually following the Manchester United switch.
The sum would make Maignan the highest-paid player in the Milan squad. The brass finalized a never-ending negotiation with Rafael Leao in recent months. His salary amounts to €5M plus progressive bonuses that will easily allow him to cash in €6.5/7M.
The Rossoneri extended the contracts of all their stars in the last couple of seasons, such as Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori, Ismael Bennacer, and Pierre Kalulu. The cost of the squad has increased following a busy transfer window. It’s up to the ownership to make the call on the new deal of the French star.
