Maldini and Ambrosini Praise Milan Icon Ricardo Kaka

Milan have released the first episode of their ‘On The Pitch’ special – a new format dedicated to the most memorable pieces of play and moments in Rossoneri history. Club legends Paolo Maldini and Massimo Ambrosini have revealed the prowess of one player who they feel was of exceptional service to the team. That artist is none other than Ricardo Kaka.

Technical director Maldini spoke to MilanTV (via MilanNews) to reveal his appreciation for the talented playmaker.

“Kaka was a champion in depth and dribbling: he solved many games for us and he did it in a spectacular way. I must say that he did it very often in important games: when there was an important match, he was there, like so many other comrades.”

Ambrosini recalled Kaka’s fantastic solo dribble and finish against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 2nd leg clash at San Siro, as Milan scored the tie’s only goal via the Brazilian maestro in the 93rd minute.

“That game was very closed, very physical. The job of those who played behind him was to give him the ball, then he thought about it. 98% of that goal is his.” (via MilanNews)

Ricardo Kaka appeared 307 times in the Rossoneri colors, registering 104 goals and 84 assists during his two stints at the club.
