Maldini Hints Milan Will Try to Sign a Defender in January

Milan technical director Paolo Maldini has hinted that the club will try to sign a defender in the upcoming transfer window.

The Rossoneri suffered a major blow as centre-back Simon Kjaer suffered a serious injury during their league fixture against Genoa and is out of action for six months.

Milan have been linked to a number of defenders lately and Maldini has hinted that the club would try for reinforcements at the back.

As quoted by MilanNews, the Rossoneri icon said: “If you lose someone, it’s normal to think you can replace him. Even an important player like Kjaer could be replaced. Let’s see how, it won’t be easy to find someone really decisive.”

The Danish defender has been a key player for Milan lately and his absence is a major blow for the club. While Alessio Romagnoli can fill up for him, the Rossoneri need some depth at the back and they will be looking to get someone in the upcoming transfer window.
