As per Sky Italia (SassuoloNews), Empoli have better chances than Sassuolo and Salernitana to land Maldini, with the former already holding talks to lure the attacking midfielder from Milan. Contacts have been established by the Gli Azzurri in a bid to fend off interest, and a loan deal is the most probable scenario.

Maldini was recently approached in the transfer market by the Neroverdi, but the black and green club seem to have set other goals. The future of the Milan-owned footballer is now seemingly likely to be far from Milan, at least for the moment.
