Maldini Slams Critics of De Ketelaere’s Underwhelming Form

Following Pioli’s side’s 2-1 victory over Fiorentina at the San Siro, Milan sporting director and legend Paolo Maldini slammed critics of the Belgian prospect Charles De Ketelaere.

Since arriving from Belgian outfit Club Brugge, it is safe to say that the 21 year-old has struggled to find his stride as he only notched a single assist in 13 games played.

As it stands, De Ketelaere has only broke into the starting eleven five times since arriving to the San Siro, and was dropped to the bench throughout the past six league fixtures for the Rossoneri.

With all the criticism circulating regarding De Ketelaere’s failure to hit the ground running, Maldini addressed his perspective in an interview, as relayed by MilanNews:

“He is suffering, it is a different environment with different pressures. He has more knowledge than before. We signed a five-year contract with Charles not five months, we are waiting for him, just as we are waiting for Origi. They have everything to be decisive. We have had many examples of players who took a while to understand what is needed to play at Milan.
