Latest information from L’Equipe relay that a six-month loan has been agreed upon for the Ukrainian with a mandatory purchase option included in the contract. The obligation for Marseille to buy means that they will have to part ways with €10M plus €3M in bonuses for the Ukraine international. The surprising transfer move comes into play after a season of unrest for Malinovskyi under Gian Piero Gasperini at the Gewiss Stadium, where he managed to garner just 547 minutes of game time across 15 Serie A matches.
The 29-year-old forward culminates his four-season Atalanta stay with 30 goals from 143 appearances, having joined from Belgian Pro League outfit Genk in 2019.
