Man United Target Min-jae Finds Surprise English Suitor

South Korean center-back Kim Min-jae is on his way out of Napoli, with Manchester United reportedly leading the race to sign him. However, a surprise suitor has emerged to hijack the Red Devils’ attempt.

As per English outlet talkSPORT, Newcastle United are keen to bolster their squad ahead of their crucial season and have identified Min-jae as a potential arrival. Having stood tall as one of the best defenders in Europe, interest in the former Fenerbahce man by bigwigs has accelerated in recent months.

Eddie Howe will lead the Magpies into Champions League football next season, and signing a center-back has reportedly become one of the club’s main priorities. Both Manchester United and Newcastle United are ready to execute the €50M release clause set upon Min-jae, which will be activated for the first two weeks of July.

26-year-old Min-jae appeared 45 times for Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli throughout the course of 2022/23 across all competitions.
