Man Utd to Step Up Effort for Juventus Misfit Adrien Rabiot

Manchester United could soon step up their effort to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus following an abysmal start to the season. According to Calciomercato, the Red Devils have already established contracts with the midfielder’s mother-agent Veronique and are now looking to intensify talks to take him to Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag’s adventure at Man Utd has started off on the wrong foot. Following a disheartening 2-1 home defeat on the opening Premier League weekend, the Dutchman’s side went down 4-0 at Brentford on Saturday, as the pressure begins to mount on the ex-Ajax boss during his early days in Manchester.

Despite landing Christian Eriksen in the summer, a lack of creativity in the midfield has been ten Hag’s main problem so far. It seems the 52-year-old has identified Rabiot as his top target to add energy and precision to his depleted engine room. Juventus wouldn’t oppose the Frenchman’s departure as they have other targets to pursue.

Rabiot has never found his feet in Turin after swapping Paris Saint-Germain for Juventus in 2019. He delivered some promising performances last season, yet problems with inconsistency could soon spell the end for his underwhelming career at the Allianz Stadium. Low in the pecking order, the 27-yar-old also wants out.

His departure would free up space for another PSG outcast at Juventus. Indeed, the record-time Serie A champions are vying for the signature of Leandro Paredes. Meanwhile, the Argentine playmaker has fallen out of favour in Paris and would embrace a return to Italy with his arms wide open.

Rabiot’s move to Man Utd looks to be the key to unlocking a deal to bring Paredes to Juventus by the end of the summer.
