Manchester City Beat Milan and Bayern to Sign Hungarian Wonderkid

Manchester City are reportedly set to sign 17-year-old Hungarian wonderkid Zalan Vancsa from MTK Budapest. The Cityzens have beaten Bayern Munich, Milan and Sevilla for the teenage sensation’s signature, who will become Pep Guardiola’s second signing of the January transfer window.

The Telegraph reports of an agreement being reached between the Premier League giants and the Hungarian outfit and the youngster is touted to undergo a medical examination in Manchester ahead of the move.

He was only recently instated in the ranks of MTK’s first team. Vancsa exploded in his first season in Hungary, scoring 7 goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances. His performances of late prompted several top European clubs to scout his abilities, but it is Manchester City who have beaten other frontrunners for his services.

A traditional winger by trade, Vancsa is known for his versatility to operate in the final-third in a variety of roles, including as a supporting striker and center-forward.

Vancsa will remain in Hungary on-loan for the rest of the season to help his development. He was thought to be of interest to City Football Group’s other team – Belgian outfit Lommel SK – but has instead been transferred to City. The global football conglomerate maintains its reputation for having a solid eye for spotting quality starlets from around the world with Vancsa’s onboarding.

His transfer arrives just days after the Manchester outfit beat Milan, Inter and other hopefuls to the signing of Argentine sensation Julian Alvarez from River Plate.
