Ederson has reached superstar status in the past year at Atalanta. Major teams have earmarked him ahead of a potential pursuit. In particular, Manchester City, PSG, and Juventus have laid eyes on the Brazilian midfielder, Mundo Deportivo reports.
The 25-year-old has been on a steady rise since joining from Salernitana in a €22.9M swap deal including Matteo Lovato. He has logged 107 appearances in Bergamo, scoring 9 goals and providing 3 assists. He earned his first Brazil call-up and debuted last June.
Atalanta are wary of the interest of some powerhouses and value Ederson €60M. Juventus spent a similar sum to acquire Teun Koopmeiners last summer. The Bergamaschi have more leverage in this case. The midfielder is under contract until 2027.
The ace spoke about his future to AS last June (via Goal).
“I like Italy, and I settled in well, but I’m curious about the Premier League. I don’t know if I’ll stay in Serie A in the future, as I think I have a lot more to prove. Should something happen on the market, the club would have to accept first. I have a good relationship with the management. I’m not distracted by the rumors. My family and I are happy right now.”
Our Take on Ederson
His growth has been remarkable and he’s fully ready for bigger stages, but it’d also be nice if La Dea managed to keep ahold of some of their coveted stars for a few years every now and again, even though they always bounce back admirably from big sales.
