Manchester United in ‘Pole Position’ to Land Inter Wingback

With Milan Skriniar potentially staying put, Inter are seeking alternative ways to raise funds, and they are considering selling Denzel Dumfries amid the interest especially from Manchester United. They have already signed his potential replacement Raoul Bellanova this summer.

As per the latest reports from British outlet Daily Mail, the Dutchman is one of the three players – the others being Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez – CEO Beppe Marotta will try to relieve from the club’s ranks as they look to clear some space for wages before making any other moves. The strikers are not in demand due to their age, but Dumfries is garnering attention from top dogs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Red Devils will need to shell out nothing less than the €40-50M mark if they are to bring the fullback to Old Trafford. It is also understood that new coach Erik Ten Hag’s intention to pursue former Eredivisie players could play a huge role in this transfer decision.

However, Manchester United would first want to rid themselves of Aaron Wan-Bissaka before materializing any offer for Dumfries, who could be on his way out the exit door at San Siro after just one season. Nonetheless, he still has four more years on his Nerazzurri contract.

As per Calciomercato, Inter had already been alerted of the interest in the 26-year-old by a Premier League giant in Chelsea earlier during negotiations for Romelu Lukaku. This is the first time concrete interest has burgeoned up from Manchester. Having signed him for around €15M, Inter would be bagging a transfer jackpot if they receive what they demand.
