Manchester United in Pole Position to Snap Rabiot Signature

Adrien Rabiot will leave Juventus on a free transfer, and Manchester United are in pole position to settle a deal for the French midfielder. Juventus have been trying to convince Rabiot to extend his contract by another year, but to no avail so far, as the Bianconeri prepare to lose him.

Rabiot was extremely close to securing a deal with the Red Devils last summer. However, his agent and mother Veronique proved to be the hurdle for the English club to settle personal terms of contract. This time it might prove different though, as a Bosman deal is on the cards.

As per The Athletic, concrete contacts have taken place between Rabiot’s entourage and Manchester United, and it might not be long before the club’s proposal is accepted by Rabiot. It is unclear how much United wish to table, but one thing is for sure, the Frenchman’s high wage demands could threaten to crumble the move just like last summer.

Juventus want to keep Rabiot, at least for another season, to continue tarring under Massimiliano Allegri. But the lure of playing in the Premier League, coupled with Champions League football, will be hard to ignore, especially given the Bianconeri’s own standing.
