Manchester United Shortlist Napoli Star to Bolster Attack

Manchester United have inquired about Victor Osimhen, but it would take a giant offer to sign him from Napoli. Conversely, the Azzurri reached out to Sassuolo to gather some intel about Gianluca Scamacca as a potential replacement. However, Inter are firmly in the lead for the Italian center-forward, Alfredo Pedullà reports.

The Partenopei want to keep their star, but they have been doing their homework in case they receive shocking bids. According to the transfer market expert, they will consider selling the Nigerian star only for €100M or more.

It is unclear whether Manchester United will be willing to spend that kind of money for Osimhen. However, they have already tried to acquire him in the past. The entourage of the player turned down the move because he would have competed with his compatriot Odion Ighalo at the time.

The Red Devils will retool their attack in the next window. They will most likely lose Edinson Cavani, and Cristiano Ronaldo has been restless for the lack of results. According to Rai Sport, Manchester United will try to sign an elite striker in the summer, and Osimhen is second on their shortlist behind Harry Kane. It figures to be easier to convince Napoli rather than Tottenham, but not cheap.

In such scenario, the Partenopei would be ready to invest heavily to purchase Scamacca. However, they will have to win over the player, who has his heart set on joining Inter, Pedullà informs. Real Madrid are also eyeing Osimhen as an alternative to their top targets.
