Marchisio Believes Milan Giants are Superior Despite Juventus’ Vlahovic Signing

Iconic Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio believes Milan and Inter are better than his ex-club at the moment, given the Milan giants’ presence at the top of Serie A standings at the moment. According to the former Azzurri midfield talisman, the ‘mood in the locker room has changed’ at the Allianz Stadium, although there is more ‘enthusiasm’ in the Bianconeri ranks – mainly due to the acquisition of star winter signing, Dusan Vlahovic.

Marchisio spoke to the microphones of La Gazzetta dello Sport, backing Juventus not only to do well with their new signings but also to retain several stars who are being touted towards the exit door.

“The mood in the (Juventus) locker room has changed, now there is enthusiasm and this counts, but Inter for the squad and Milan for the game seem even superior to me,” he began.

The enigmatic Italian believes La Vecchia Signora cannot afford to lose few stars, even if they have youngsters in their ranks.

He said: “I think, if Juve wants to have a real challenge, they’re forced to build it right away. Dybala and De Ligt cannot be lost, for talent and identity you have to keep them. With Chiesa, Vlahovic and others, they are the future.”

Marchisio spent 12 seasons at the heart of Juventus’ midfield line, scoring 37 goals in 389 appearances for the Bianconeri in a glittering spell, before finishing his career in Russia with Zenit St. Petersburg in 2018/19.
