Lazio returned to winning ways in Serie A with a goal-glutted 3-2 victory against Torino on Sunday’s early afternoon. Marco Baroni’s men extended their unbeaten run in Turin to six matches with another free-scoring performance after beating Dynamo Kyiv 3-0 on Wednesday.
Matteo Guendouzi, Boulaye Dia, and Tijjani Noslin found the net to propel Lazio to only their third win in six Serie A outings this season. However, Baroni is adamant his ‘team is growing,’ insisting the Biancocelesti players followed his instructions to the letter.
“I congratulate the boys because we traveled during the week, and there was a lot of energy. The team is growing,” the Lazio boss said after the game, as reported by TMW. “From a performance point of view, we are missing a few bits, but at the same time, we are happy because we produce, we create scoring chances, and we bring a lot of men forward.
“The boys follow my guides, now we go on with work, work, and work,” Baroni maintained.
Lazio can draw further confidence from Dia’s seamless integration into the team. Despite only joining the club from Salernitana in the summer, the Senegalese forward has already become a vital first-team member at the Stadio Olimpico.
Today’s strike was his fifth across six appearances for Lazio in all competitions this season. In addition to Dia, Guendouzi netted a rare goal in Serie A to open the scoring, while Noslin shrugged off recent criticism for being sent off in the Europa League with a decisive goal off the bench.
