Marotta Confident on Brozovic and Perisic Staying at Inter

Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta dished on the ongoing talks to extend the contracts of Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic: “We are negotiating with them, so that alone means that they have an interest in staying with us. We share such sentiment, and I am referring to both of them. These are normal dynamics at this point of the season.”

The executive confirmed to Sky that the whole management is getting new deals: “Putting pen-to-paper is a formality at this point. We are all happy to continue working in such an important club. Ownership is always close to us and wants to keep chasing important goals.”

While the discussions with Perisic have been challenging, Brozovic was rumored to be on the verge of coming to terms with Inter a few weeks back. However, the parties have yet to agree on all elements. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the bonuses are the final hang-up. The club remains supremely optimistic, even though there is no shortage of suitors for the midfielder.

Marotta also discussed the appeal to get the Bologna game awarded to them: “It may be a long-shot, but we had to do it. Our lawyers made the call, and we decided to back them. It would not be a problem for us to play the match, even though the schedule is very busy. The rules must be respected, and we see it differently from Bologna. However, the relationship between the two teams is fine. We followed the standard procedure even though it could cause some delays.”
