Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta reiterated his confidence about Lautaro Martinez signing a new contract and the team’s outlook following the Oaktree takeover talking to FCInterNews following an event with the fan clubs in Milan.
“I can guarantee that there’ll be absolute continuity in the management. Those who speak ill of us are driven by envy and spread biased pieces of news saying that we’re in disarray. In reality, we’re alive and well. You can be serene. We’ll be able to have great satisfaction thanks to your help and the support of the players and the coach, who are great professionals.”
Marotta rejoiced for conquering the historic 20th title.
“I’m very happy to be here to celebrate an important deed. Inter must be considered one of the best clubs in the world. You can’t be scared in football and must aim high. We’ll always fight to obtain the best we can. That’s my promise.”
Marotta believes Martinez will put pen to paper soon enough.
“He’s a great guy and a leader. It’s not a coincidence that we named him the captain. Agents always want to look after number one, but I’m optimistic he wants to stay since he says that daily. It’s not something that will get sorted in a matter of days. However, he’ll have surely renewed his contract before we resume practicing after the summer break.”
The Argentine is under contract until 2026 and is in line for a significant pay bump, although his representative Alejandro Camano disproved the numbers indicated lately.
