Olympique Marseille have named Sassuolo whizz-kid Giacomo Raspadori their top transfer target for the upcoming transfer window. As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, the French heavyweights want to get rid of Arkadiusz Milik and replace him with the Neroverdi up-and-comer.
Raspadori carries the reputation of one of the most talented Italian youngsters, having climbed through the ranks at the Mapei Stadium. The 21-year-old forward has gone from strength to strength since making his senior debut in May 2019.
He has tallied for goals and two assists in Serie A this season, scoring a quick-fire brace against AC Milan earlier this week after coming on as a late substitute.
While enjoying a rise to stardom at Sassuolo, Raspadori has also earned the captain’s armband as his influence in Emilia-Romagna continues to grow.
The Italian starlet has drawn attention towards his burgeoning talent, with several Serie A sides credited with an interest in acquiring his signature.
However, Raspadori’s future could well be lying abroad, as Marseille see him as an upgrade on Arkadiusz Milik. The Polish striker left Napoli to move to Ligue 1 last summer but has failed to live up to expectations at the Stade Velodrome.
Following a dismal start to his Marseille career, the 27-year-old has recently enjoyed an upturn in form. Yet, despite scoring three times and providing an assist in his last six league outings, Milik could return to Italy comes the summer.
Les Phocéens consider offloading the ex-Napoli marksman at the end of the season, with Juventus reportedly rekindling their interest.
