Allegri Turned Down PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid Jobs?

Massimiliano Allegri was in the running for all the high-profile benches that opened up recently, and some that did not change, but he could not accept due to family issues, his friend and mentor Giovanni Galeone told Radio Kiss Kiss. “He said no to PSG and Chelsea and, to be correct, ten days later he did the same with Arsenal and Real Madrid because his mother had some problems,” the veteran coach stated.

Allegri has been out of work since the summer of 2019: “I think he will return soon because he is eager now, while he was not very keen in his first year after leaving Juventus. I think he showed an unmatched ability of reading matches. It is true that he has a big staff, but he is very capable of managing his team in a certain way.”

He has been linked to Napoli which is still considered likely to move on from Gennaro Gattuso: “President Aurelio De Laurentiis likes him a lot and I know they have been in contact, there is some mutual appreciation there. He needs a good project and an important bench to return. Napoli’s one surely is and it would be a great idea to have Rafa Benitez as a director.”

The former Juventus boss also received praise from Fabio Capello on Sky Sport after the Porto game: “The much-maligned Allegri reached two finals and won titles. The quality of his work has never been complimented enough. They thought they needed a new brand of football, but when you try to go on a different way you do not always find pleasant and positive things.”
