Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has conceded the fact that Napoli are the team to beat this season. The Partenopei are in hot form this term, unbeaten throughout their 14 Serie A matches – winning 12 and drawing just two.
Speaking to the press in his pre-match press conference (via Tuttomercatoweb) ahead of their visit to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi to play Hellas Verona, Allegri had some interesting comments to make, including about the upcoming clash.
“We are playing against a team that has beaten Juventus three times in the last five games. It is a team that creates, physical and that attacks. It will not be an easy match, it is a team that does not deserve the ranking it has.”
He then revealed his opinion about Napoli.
“Napoli are having a great championship, if they continue like this nobody can aim to win the championship.”
Juventus sit in fifth place following their crucial Derby d’Italia win. They lag 13 points behind Scudetto hopefuls Napoli, who are aiming for their first shot at the league title since 1990.
