Max Allegri Puts Juventus in Scudetto Frace After Landmark Win

High-flying Juventus put minnows Lecce to the sword on Sunday night, posting a comprehensive 3-0 win at Stadio Via del Mare. It was Massimiliano Allegri’s 300th victory in Serie A.

Dusan Vlahovic’s double and Gleison Bremer’s header helped Allegri join a select club of only three managers to have hit a 300-win landmark. The Juventus coach’s record is only second to Nereo Rocco’s 302 and Giovanni Trapattoni’s 352.

If Juventus live up to their tag as pre-match favorites against Empoli next weekend, Allegri could bridge the gap on Rocco in a top-table six-pointer against Inter in a fortnight.

But Juventus can savor the moment after taking advantage of Nerazzurri’s absence for Supercoppa Italian duties to move one point clear at the Serie A summit. As for Allegri, he refused to hide his enthusiasm for reaching a flattering milestone.

I am glad to have reached 300 wins, I can only thank all the players I worked with since I started in Serie A,” Allegri told DAZN. “I consider myself very fortunate, as I worked with some extraordinary players and it was a real pleasure to watch them.

In addition to improving his managerial record, Allegri finally refused to rule Juventus out of the Scudetto picture.

There is nothing impossible in football. We must have that belief in our minds that we can do something extraordinary and make the seemingly impossible become possible. We must give our all, then if the others do better, you shake their hands and applaud them for their efforts.
