Mbappé Reveals Surprising Past Connection with Milan

Kylian Mbappé disclosed having an affinity for Milan: “My bond with them is special. I had an Italian babysitter. I spent a lot of time with her family, and they were all Rossoneri supporters. Therefore, I used to watch many of their matches and root for them.”

“I always said that if I played in Italy, I would do it only for Milan. But I did not really have a choice at the time. Jokes aside, I congratulate them for winning the table. They have a lot of Frenchmen on the roster, plus Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a true legend that I respect.”

The start explained his decision to stay at PSG to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Talking with the president Emmanuel Macron was special, but I chose on my own. I think it was fair to remain in my own country and current club.”

Mbappé said that Liverpool were in the running too: “I talked with them as well, because they are the favorite club of my mom. I already met with them five years ago. It was brief, though, and the pick was between PSG and Real Madrid. I thought transferring to Spain was the right move last summer, but things have changed. I am French, and I am important to my nation. It is not just a matter of football. Once my career is over, I want to be at ease living here, alongside my family and friends.”

The ace discussed Italy failing to qualify for the World Cup: “It is better for us since they are a great team. But I was sad for Marco Verratti and Gianluigi Donnarumma. It was rough on them. But such is football, and you have to learn from defeats. The Azzurri have a new generation and will be back soon.”
