Scott McTominay is pleased with how things are going at Napoli so far. The former Manchester United stalwart has quickly become a regular thanks to a tactical switch. He had his first goal contribution, an assist, against Monza. He chatted with Radio CRC (via Ansa).
“Serie A and the Premier League are very different. There’s more tactic here, and you have to know your role inside the team very well. Physicality matters a lot too, like in England. I’ve been impressed with the overall level. I didn’t fully realize it from afar. Clubs are very organized. There’s a lot of balance at the top. Every game is tough.”
McTominay spoke highly of Antonio Conte.
“His style is very flexible, and you don’t handle just one position. You have to learn to do many things and assimilate the right info the help your teammates. I used to do something similar at Manchester United as well. The gaffer would surely be happy if Romelu Lukaku had a brace against Como. He’s the most physical player I have starred with, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the most gifted one. Instead, as an opponent, I’d say Lionel Messi.”
Napoli got off to a fast start.
“We have a lot of faith in the group and take it game after the game and hold onto the good things without looking too far ahead. We’re getting better and listening to the coach.”
McTominay motivated his move to Napoli.
“The passion of the people was decisive to accept it. We’re here to work and bring joy to the city. We have to do our best to make them happy.”
