Mehdi Taremi Fulfills His Dream by Joining Inter

Mehdi Taremi has officially completed his long-awaited switch to Serie A champions Inter on a Bosman deal after leaving Porto as a free agent at the end of last month. Speaking to the press in his first interview as the new Nerazzurri player, the Iran international admitted that joining the Italian powerhouse is the ‘happiest moment of my life.’

I am very happy to be here today, it is a dream come true for me. I feel good and I am very happy. I have to say that this is the happiest moment of my life,” Taremi told the club’s website after becoming the first Iranian to wear the Inter jersey.

I was aware of that and I am very proud. I did everything possible to be here today and finally, I succeeded,” the newest Inter acquisition continued. “Serie A is one of the most prestigious leagues in the world. I will try to do my best as I have always done until now. I want to give my best here at Inter.

Taremi is the second household name to join Inter on a free transfer this summer after Piotr Zielinski signed a three-year contract last week. Despite being 31, the highly-rated center-forward has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, pledging his future to Giuseppe Meazza until 2027.

In addition to landing Taremi and Zielinski, Inter tied their title-winning manager, Simone Inzaghi, down to a new deal during the week.
