Alex Meret Renews Contract with Napoli Until 2025

Alex Meret will be staying with Napoli until 2025 after the parties agreed to a new contract. The Partenopei shot stopper will earn 1.5 million euros per season with the new contract.

During the conversations, the 25-year-old asked for trust among his demands. Earlier this year, it was revealed that the Italian wanted to be the number one with the club. At that time, he split playing time with Colombian David Ospina, who left the club this summer for Al Nassr.

His request to be the out-and-out number one went as he hoped. Meret has started in all nine of Napoli’s fixtures to this point, keeping four clean sheets. He has conceded five goals across the nine games.

The Italian international came to Napoli from Udinese in the summer of 2017, having spent two seasons on loan with SPAL. He played just 13 Serie A games for SPAL, earning him a move to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
