France ousted Morocco 2-0 to book their place alongside Argentina in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Milan ace Theo Hernandez proved instrumental in the win, scoring the opener in just the 5th minute with great acrobatic style, before substitute Randal Kolo Muani tapped-in the second ten minutes before full-time.
The former Real Madrid wingback spoke to the microphones of RaiSport (via MilanNews) and shared his insights into the journey to a second successive World Cup final.
“It was an incredible evening, we knew it would be a difficult match because Morocco are an excellent team but we won and now we have to think about the final. It was a fantastic month, in which we have worked every day to get to this moment: now we have to recover well, I’m really tired.”
Hernandez went on to share his thoughts on facing Lionel Messi and Argentina in the showdown clash on Sunday.
“It was nice to win this semi-final but on Sunday we have to be at 100%. Messi doesn’t scare us, Argentina has an incredible team but we have a few days to work and prepare properly.”
France have a shot at becoming only the second team in history to win back-to-back World Cups, after Brazil, who did it in 1958 and 1962.
